CLASS TITLE: SCHOOL NURSEADMINISTRATIVE RELATIONSHIPS:A credentialed position directly responsible to the Director of Pupil Personnel Services.REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:Assume responsibility for implementing the District's Health Program. EAssist with in-service education of school personnel, students and parents in healthful living and control of communicable diseases. EParticipate with school principals and other school personnel in developing and conducting the school health program. ERefer and serve as liaison to appropriate public agencies. EConduct, supervise and coordinate the State-mandated vision and hearing test programs. EMake referrals and communicate with the family health advisor of individual children and to appropriate public agencies. EDevelop a health, safety and welfare in-service program for parents, children and teachers. EProvide the health and developmental information required for the preparation of pupils for possible placement in special education. EServe on special education committees at the school site and at the District level. EMaintain individual student health records and emergency information. EProvide care for persons who are injured or who become ill at school. EAssist in the control of contagious diseases through inspections, exclusions and audits of immunizations. EParticipate as a member of the multi-disciplinary assessment team for students referred for special services. EConduct County, State and federal mandated programs and submit completed reports within specified timelines. EPerform related duties as assigned. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Licensed Registered Nurse with a valid California Health and Developmental Credential; valid California motor vehicle operator's license and availability of personal automobile for use in the course of employment; demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups of children and adults in the fields of physical and mental health.WORKING CONDITIONS:ENVIRONMENT:Office environment; subject to driving a vehicle to conduct work. PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Sitting or standing for extended periods of time, hearing and speaking to exchange a variety of health and developmental information, walking, bending at the waist, and turning/twisting to examine students.HAZARDS:Potential for contact with blood-borne pathogens and communicable diseases.

The Lawndale Elementary School District is a K-8 District with two School Nurse openings. One full-time and one part-time. Minimum Requirements: Licensed RN. Must have BS (prefer BSN), Audiometry and Public Health Nurse (PHN) Certificate and have or be eligible for a California School Nurse Services Credential. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
